At Strait Shipping, we're committed to offering drivers the very best possible experience. On board the vessels we have comfortable driver cabins, restrooms, shower facilities and hearty meals to ensure drivers arrive at their destination refreshed and ready for the rest of their journey.
Strait Shipping has dedicated freight check-in terminals in Picton and Wellington. Both terminals have warm cosy lounge areas for drivers which include the daily paper, magazines, complimentary tea and coffee plus bathrooms with shower facilities. There's even a TV and biccies to enjoy in Wellington and you'll be greeted by the resident cat in Picton.
Our driver cabins include a comfy bed, pillow and duvet. On board the Straitman, cabins also include a desk with chair and an ensuite bathroom with toilet and shower. There are special ‘driver only’ showers and toilets available on board the Santa Regina. Fresh towels are provided in each cabin along with complimentary driver toiletries including shampoo, body wash and soap. Wake up calls are provided to all drivers half an hour before entering the respective ports (Wellington/Picton).
Drivers can expect to be served hearty three course meals designed to satisfy even the hungriest of truck driver appetites. They can also enjoy endless complimentary Tea, Coffee and Milo throughout the sailing.
Meals can be ordered by simply presenting a stamped meal voucher at the café. Our chefs can cater to special dietary requirements so if there is anything on the Table d'hote Menu during the sailing which you are unable to eat, please do not hesitate to let our crew know so they can organise an alternative.
There is a washing machine on board the Santa Regina available for driver use. The washing machine is free to use and we provide complimentary laundry powder.
Sky TV is now available on the Straitsman in the ‘Trucker’s Corner’. There is a dedicated drivers lounge on board the Santa Regina and our freight customers are also more than welcome to kick back, relax and enjoy one of the free recent release movies playing in the passenger areas onboard both of our vessels throughout the sailing.
